The Wood River Rural School district was formed in June of 2006 when Wood River Rural High School merged with Alda Elementary and Wood River Elementary.

Recreational activities available include Wood River Aquatic Center, Country Club - golf, tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds - several located throughout the town, library and a daycare facility coming soon. 

Community groups include: Community Choir, Celebrate Wood River, Wood River FunFest and Wood River Garage Sales.
